High-Protein Berry Breakfast Smoothie Bowl
A thick, refreshing, and vibrant breakfast bowl packed with antioxidant-rich mixed berries and premium protein. Made in under 3 minutes with zero cooking required, this ice-cream-textured smoothie bowl crushes sugar cravings and provides clean, slow-digesting fuel for your busy Monday morning.
Ingredients
- 150g frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries)
- 150g plain, fat-free Greek yogurt (or Skyr)
- 1 scoop (30g) whey protein powder (vanilla or berry flavor)
- 50ml unsweetened almond milk (just enough to help it blend thick)
- For crunch & fiber toppings: 1 tbsp hemp seeds (or chia seeds), 4-5 fresh sliced strawberries, and 10g of low-sugar granola.
Instructions
Blend the Frozen Base (2 mins): In a high-speed blender, add your 150g of frozen mixed berries, 150g of cold Greek yogurt, and 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder. Pour in the 50ml of unsweetened almond milk. Secure the lid and blend on high for 60 to 90 seconds.
Check the "Ice Cream" Texture (1 min): Stop the blender and scrape down the sides with a spatula if needed. The mixture should be incredibly thick, almost like soft-serve ice cream. If it is too thick to blend, add just one extra splash of almond milk and pulse for another 5 seconds.
Plate and Decorate (1 min): Use a spoon to scoop the thick smoothie mixture directly into your favorite wide breakfast bowl, smoothing out the top surface. Neatly arrange your fresh strawberry slices, the low-sugar granola for crunch, and a final sprinkle of hemp seeds across the top. Serve immediately with a spoon!
The secret to getting a perfectly thick smoothie bowl that you can eat with a spoon is using frozen fruit instead of fresh fruit, and keeping your liquid (almond milk) to an absolute minimum. If you add too much milk, it will turn into a regular drink instead of a bowl!
